SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF EETING HELD ON APRIL 24, 1981 TO DISCUSS MATTERS RELATED TO THE CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 QUALITY ASUJRANCE PROGRAM.
A meeting was held on April 24, 1981 in Bethesda, Maryland with representatives of the Union Electric Company and SNUPPS Organization to discuss matters related to the Callaway Plant, Unit 1 quality assurance program. The list of attendees is attached as Enclosure 1.
The significant points discussed are as follows:
1.
Representatives of Union Electric Company advised us that their response to our specific concerns specified in our Request for Additional Information dated March 26, 1981 regarding management attitudes will clarify their position in a acceptable manner.
2.
Detailed discussions were held regarding other matters addressed in our March 26, 1981 Request for Additional Information.
It appears from our discussions that these matters will be resolved with the applicant's submittal of responses to our concerns. They agreed to further investigate their position regarding (a) use of nuclear inspectors for code items and (b) authentication of certificate of conformance.
3.
We advised the applicant that the Q-list must be revised to include TMI-safety related items and items that are deemed safety related by our technical reviewers. This list will only be applied during the operation'al phase only and not backfitted to the construction phase.
4.
The applicant advised us that he will provide draft responses to our March 26, l
1981 Request for Additional Information within two weeks.
