OPERATOR LICENSING AT WEST VALLEY We have completed our on-site operating licensing work at West Valley.
On March 24, written examinations were adt inistered to six operators.
Four candidates (Bridenbaker, Young, Nelso., and Lowe) are now qualified for Senior Operator Licenses and one canditate (Willste) for a Plant-wide Operator License. A sixth candidate, R. Miller, did not pass the written examination. In accordance with 10 CFR Part '5.12(a), Mr. Miller is notified by letter from NRC requesting him *.) apply for a written re-examination after two months upon receipt sf the letter of denial.
On March 25-and 26, walk-thru tests were administered by C. J. Haughney, and E. L. Youngblood of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. All six candidates passed the walk-thrus.
Licenses for each operator will be issued upon receiving proper medical certification.
