Modification to Maine Yankee Technical Specification concerning Snubber Surveillance

Dear Sir:

Pursuant to Section 50.59 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations, Maine Yankee proposes the following modifications to Appendix A of the Operating License.

Proposed Chance Reference is made to the Technical Sp cifications contained in Appendix A to Operating License tb. Om-36 issued to Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company for the Maine Yankee plant and to reference (b). We propose to modify current Technical Specifications as follows:

A.

Replace pages 3.20-1 and 3.20-2 of Specification 3.20 with the attached revised page 3.20-1.

B.

Replace pages "L.9-1 through 4.9-4 of Specification 4.9 with the attached levised pages 4.9-1 through 4.9-3.

Replace page 5.10-2 of Specification 5.10 with the attached C.

revised page 5.10-2.

Reasons for Chance Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company was requested in Reference (b) to incorporate the applicable portion of a set of model Technical Specifications concerning Inservice Snubber Surveillance into our Appendix "A" Technical Specifications.

The purpose, therefore, of this submittal is to fulfill that request.

This change has been reviewed by the Plant Operating Review Committee and Nuclear Safety Audit Review Committee.

Fee Determination The UStEC, by Letter (Reference (b)), requested that Maine Yankee submit a proposed change to the Technical Specifications concerning Surveillarce of Snubbers (Shock.Suppressors). Since this amendment is administrative in nature, Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company proposes this change as a Class II Amendment. A payment of $1,200 is enclosed.

Schedule of Diange The changes described above will he incorporated into the Mairr Yankee Technical Specifications upon receipt of your approval.
