This letter is in regard to the establishment of a schedule for our review of your application for operating licenses for your North Anna Power Station, Units 1 and 2.
A su= mary of the more important schedule milestones is enclosed for your information and review, including our best estimates for hearing dates.
It should be realized that the enclosed dates are targets that may require some changes as -
the review process proceeds.
For example, the enclosed dates are based on receiving the information requested in our letter of April 17, 1973 on or before June 1, 1973; however, only portions of this information have been received tn date with the balance promised by July 11,1973.. The effect of this delay on the enclosed dates will be assessed when your complete response is received.
Many of these milestones reqvire specific input, preparation, or participation from you, such as responses to questions, ACRS meetings and response to public and agency comments.
For this reason, we
,believe that you should critically review the dates associated with
'these important milestones and advise us whether you believe the dates
, are realistic or should be adjusted.
After you have reviewed these milestones and associated dates, I suggest that, if you feel it would be advantageous, we meet with a representative of your corporate organization to discuss the schedule within the next two weeks.

if, duriny,.the coure e of our review of the application for North Ar.na Station Units 1 and 2, you believe there is a need to bring to the attention of the Director of Licensing matters which involve an appeal by you of staf f decisions relating to your application, you may have the opportunity by contacting the Ditector, the Deputy Director for Technical Review, or me.
In making such an appeal, which may be done either orally or in writing, you should specify the matters to be discussed and indicate your reasons for disagreement with the staff reviewers. The matters being appealed will be discussed at a meeting hcid by the Director of Licensing. Your Company should be represented by the responsibic corporate officer.
Staff representatives will include the Deputy Directors of Reactor Projects and Technical Review or their Assistant Deputy Directors. This appeals procedure is an informal one, designed to allow opportunity for applicants to discuss, with Licensing management, areas of disagreement in the case review.
