September 25, 1975 Mr James G. Keppler US Nuclear Regulatory C?rmission 799 Roosevelt Road

. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 DOCKETS 50-155 & 50-255, LICENSES DPR-6 & DPR-20 BIG ROCK POINT & PALISADES PLANTS The purpose of this letter is to update previous responses to IE Bulletins 75-Oh and 75-OhA for the Bi6 Rock Point and Palisades Plants.

All but three of the deficient floor and vall penetration seals have been cor-rected at the Palisades Plant. Ventilation problems have precluded the comple-(

tion of these three penetration seals. These three vill be completed when the plant is in a shutdown condition, such that it is possible to shrt off venti-lation.

As stated previously, we plan to use a silicone RTV foam type material for the Big Rocle Point penetrations. This work will be performed during the outage presently scheduled to commence January 9, 1976.

We are procuring five additional dry chemical fire extinguishers and two additional CO2 fire extinguin, s to supplement existing fire fighting equipment at the Palisades Plant. A delivery schedule has not yet been established.

At the Big Rock Point Plant, a contract is being negotiated with W. E. Healey and Associates, Inc to install smoke detection equipment in the cable penetra-tion areas both inside and outside of containment and in the electrical equip-ment room and a water sprinkler system in the cable penetration room outside of containment. Drawings and procedures are presently being generated for Consumers Power Company's review and approval. It is anticipated that this work may be completed during the fall of 1975 In any event, it will be com-pleted no later than during the outage presently scheduled to commence January 9, 1976.
