Subject:
PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTIES - $2,650 This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of Two Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars will be issued on or about February 2,1981 to Burnside Steel Foundry Company. This action is based on alleged items of non-compliance relating to individuals working as radiographers without having received the required training, inadequate radiation surveys following radiographic exposures, failure to conduct inspections of radiographic devices at requked intervals, failure to conduct inventories. at_ required intervals, failure to submit a required, report to the Nr.C for a terminated individual and the required report to the individual and failure to submit to the NRC the required yearly exposure reports. A news release has been prepared and will be issued about the time the Licensee receives the Notice.
The State of Illinois will be notified.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informe of the enforcement action.

Following NRC Staff evaluation of the response, the civil penalties shall be remitted, mitigated or imposed by Order.
