Dear Mr. Engelken:

This is in response to your letter dated November 21, 1980 which transmitted I.E. Bulletin No. 80-24 concerning water inside containment.

The first two action items of the subject bulletin re-quested information concerning "open cooling water systems present inside containment."

There are no open cooling water systems present in the Humboldt Bay Power Plant Unit No. 3 containment.

Action Item #3 requested that " plants with closed cooling water systems inside containment provide a summary of experiences with cooling water system leakage into containment." : There have been no closed cooling water system leaks inside containment at the Humboldt Bay Power Plant.

Approximately eight man-hours were expended to conduct the review and preparation of this report.

i ry truly yours, s

}
