MAIN 3 YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY PAGE United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission December 3, 1980 1.

Maine Yankee has no open cooling water systems inside containment.

2.

Not applicable.

3.

Maine Yankee has no experience with significant cooling water leakage into containment.

Maine Yankee's closed cooling water systems have low level alarms and the containment sump has high level alarms to provide redundant early warning of a potential flooding due to leadage inside containment.

We trust that this information is satisfactory.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
