Kansas Section of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) expressed, l
l inter alia, its support for Wolf Creek and its concerns "about l
l the high cost of electricity * *
- and the failure of this nation 1

'o ccme to grips with its energy problems."
ANS further requested "the Nuclear Regu'latory Commission (for leave] to intervene in

l the proceedings with respect to issuance of the [ Wolf Creek]
operating license."
Notwithstanding ANS's use of the term " intervene,"
l it appears to Applicants that the Janaury 16 lette'r is a request l
to make a limited appearance pursuant to 10 C-F.R. S 2.715 (a) to allow ANS members "to discuss * * * [ Wolf Creeks] safety, radiation risks, costs, wastes, etc." -- and not a petition for full intervenor status pursuant to 10 C.F.R. S 2.714 (a).
