Dear Mr. Helfrich:
Enclosed please find a telex dated December 31, 1980 from Westinghouse Electric Corporation requesting an amendment to extend the expiration date on its export license XCOM0232 from December 31, 1980 to December 31, 1981. Westinghouse has requested expeditious processing of this extension request as the license is now expired and future shipments are anticipated in the near future.
Before taking action on this license amendment, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures, as to whether the proposed amendment meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
