Description of Event

On December 7, 1980 while operating in Mode 1, at 70% power, the Containment HiHi Pressure Alarm was received.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence Since the operator verified containment pressure was normal, and placed channel II in the trip mode within one hour, the health and safety of the public were not affected.

Cause of Event

The cause of this event was a signal comcarator card which failed low out of tolerance.

Immediate Corrective Action

The immediate corrective action was to verify that containment pressure was normal, and place channel II in the trip mode.

Scheduled Corrective Action There are no scheduled corrective actions.

Actions Taken to Prevent Reccurrence A new, signal comparator card was installed properly calibrated, and channel II was returned to service.

Generic Implications There are no generic implications.
