Dear Mr. Schwencer:
In the Hatter of the Application of
)
Docket No. 50-328 Tennessee Valley Authority
)
In ey letter to you dated July 29, 1980, on the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 1 Special Test Program, we indicated that the purpose of the program was to provide operator training for operation in the natural circulation mode, to verify several of the emergency operating instructions, and to provide data and verification of the Sequoyah simulator natural circulation model. As indicated in my letter, the simulator improvement and verificatica program was intended to provide an scourate training model for use in the TVA operator training program.
The results of the special tests were compared to the simulator program and showed the model to be in close agreement with the plant parameters that existed in the mtural circulation mode under varying conditions. In light of the mtural circulation simulator trainirig given to the Sequoyah operators and the fact that some of the operators for unit 2 will be coming from unit 1 and will have already been through the special test program, we believe that it is unnecessary to mpent the program for unit 2.
Very truly yours, TENNESSEE' VALLEY AUTHORITY l
