Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station, Unit i Bechtel Job 12334 List of Remote Sensing Imagery Foothills Fault System Study Files D.02 and D.05
Dear Mr. Raasch:
This letter presents the list of remote sensing imagery used in our previous and present studies. As you recall, Ms. Ina Alterman of the NRC requested this information so that the NRC may acq'. tire the imagery and perform an independent review of it.
The following discussion and list of imagery should serve to satisfy her request and may be forwarded to the NRC.
We have performed two remote sensing studies. The first, conducted in 1975, was directed towards environmental studies for the then proposed Rancho Seco Unit 2 which was subsequently postponed. The see-:nd was performed this year in partial fulfillment of the Foothills fault system study requested by the NRC. The results of both studies will be included in the final submittal.
The following lists identify the imagery used in i,vth the 1975 and the present study. The imagery used in 1975 was not reused in the present study sin e more recent imagery has become available since that time.
Imagery used in the 1975 study included:
I 1.
Ames - NASA U-2 color infrared photographs on a scale of 1:130,000; l
Mission 72-212, Accession No.-838, Frames 6935, 6936, 6949 and 6950.

Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station Bechtel Job 12334 Additional Remote Sensing Imagery Foothills Fault System Study Files D.02 and D.05
Dear Mr. Raasch:
In our letter to you of December 1,1980 (BSL-1472) we presented a list of remote sensing imagery which we used in the Foothills fault system study. The NRC had requested this list be furnished to them. We have learned that two additional items not shown on the list were obtained by us.
They were not studied extensively as they were judged to be of lesser quality than the other items on the list. For completeness, you may wish to include these two additional items in the list which you forward to the NRC.
These items include:
Two Landsat 1:250,000 thermal. impaired scenes acquired on landsat overpass 6/6/78 and 6/25/78.. Scene numbers are 83009317594 and 83011218054, resrectively.
We apologize for the omission from the original list. Please call if you have any questions.
Very truly yours, BECHTEL PORER CORPORATION h
