Subject:
Docket 50-2a;3P TMI-Unit 1 Middleton, PA
Dear Mr. Ahearne:
It is most urgent that the NRC.tespond to a wide segment of people who feet a strong need for Unit I at TML to be re-sta.tted. This unjust and discriminating decision to shut down the unit and to keep it shut down has already caused undue con-cerns and financial burdens on the people of the Three Mile Island area. There is no substantiat reason for delaying the restatt of TMT-1. Many other power plants a. cross the nation have made the required modifications, while in operation. I f eel that TM1-1 should be given this same opportunity. The nuclear indust,ty has Learned a tremendous amount from the TMI-2 incident: and is continuing to make a saf e way of producing electricity even saf er.
Please consider the conseque.nces of not allowing TMi-1 to return to f ull service. I am a most ardent supporter of nuclear power operations; and am appealing to the best judgement of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to restart Unit I at TMI.
Sincerely, Susan R. Stro o
