Gentlemen-The following information is provided in response to IE Bulletin 80-19.

In phone conversations on August 6 and 7, 1980, with I. Vi11alva cf the NRC, the author of the subject bulletin, Str. Vi11alva clarified the action i

required by the Bulletin to pertain only to those facilities which use C. P. Clare blodel HG2X-1011 mercury-wetted relays in the logic matrix l

for their Reactor Protection System (RPS).

Since neither ANO-1 nor 2 use this specific relay in logic matrices for their RPS, no action is I

required.
