Description of Event

Virginia Electric and Power Company was informed of an error made by~ Copes-Vulcan (the vendor) in providing the weight of 2 values which are.in the Resideal Heat Removal System.. Since the erroneous value (3534 lbs) and the correct value (2809 lbs) differed by > 10%, a seismic stress analysis was performed in accordance with IE Bulletin 79-14 which concluded that the anchor bolts on support H-110-D (1-RH-P-1A) have a safety factor of 2.9, which is below the minimum of 4.0 required by.the bulletin. The event is reportable pursuant to T.S. 6.9.1.8.i.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence

~

Since the safety factor is > 2.0, continued operations is justified, and the health and safety of the public are not affected.

Cause of Event

4 The valve manufacturer, Copes-Vulcan, made an error when reporting the valve weight for MOV-1700 and MOV-1701 as being 3534 lbs as opposed to the correct weight of 2809 lbs.

Immediate Corrective Action

No immediate correc+.ive action is required.

Scheduled Corrective Action A change to the support is being' developed in order to upgrade the anchor bolts on support H-110-D. ~The modificatioa will be made during the upcoming refueling outage.
