O Ceneral Manager vi a

P. O. Box 124 West Yelley, New York 14171 Gentlemen:

This letter is in reference to your letter of August 18, 1980 concernfnc

^

the installation of a barrier to protect against tornado missiles at the Head End Ventilation enclosure at the West Valley plant. We have reviewed the information provided with your letter. We agree that the proposed modification, as described in the drawings, will adequately protect the filters within the HEY enclosure in the unlikely event of a direct missile strike resulting from tornadic winds.

We request that you inspect the missile barrier modification annually to assure it has not shifted from frost action.

Barring uafavorable weather conditions, the barrier modification should be installed within the sixty day priod as comitted to in your letter of August 18, 1980.

Sincerely, gh
