HARTSVILLE AND PHIPPS EEND NUCLEAR PLANTS - REPORTABLE DEFICIENCY -
STANDBY GAS TREATMENT SYSTEM CHARCOAL ADSORBER (NCR HTN NEB 80-02 AND PBN NEB 80-02)
Initial notification of the subject deficiency was made to NRC-0IE, Region II, Ins,ractor R. W. Wright on May.8, 1980. The first and second interim reports were submitted on June 4 and August 20, 1980, respectively. In compliance with paragraph 50.55(e), of 10 CFR Part 50, this letter constitutes the third interim report on the subject deficiency.

CTI-Nuclear has recently submitted a report to TVA concerning the charcoal adsorber deficiencies. This report requires review by TVA and GE/C. F. Braun before final corrective actions can be prescribed. This review is now being initiated. We consider 10 CFR Part 21 applicable to this nonconformance.. TVA. anticipates transmitting the final report on or before March 2,1981.
