25 ycars is listed as the half-life of Ni-f 3 on page C-65.
(100 years a.

b.
Sr-29 should be Sr-89 on page C-65.
c.
The half-life of U-235 should be 7.1 x 10 pm page C-68 (under Stim listings).
d.
The half-life.of Cs-136 should be.04 on page C-67.
2.
Document the sources for concentration estimates for each nuclide listed in
- tables C-43 and C-44.
If there is no specific source for certain nuclides, provide a. discussion as to how the estimates were arrived at and the range of uncertainty for'the values provided.
If radioactive half-lives for a nuclide is less than one year, the discussion of that nuclide may be limited to an acknowledgment of that fact.
3.
NRC will be performing subsequent analyses of the Sheffield site based on the data provided in Tables C-43 and C-44.
Some inventories may be altered, however, as noted below. ' Provide comments and evaluations of the appropriateness of these modifications to the data provided by NUS.
NRC plans to use 1395 curies as the tritium inventory (page C-64) based on a.
the.675 curies estimated by fiUS plus the upper limit of 720 curies estimated (in the Interagency Task Force Report) to have been generated by industrial sources.
.b.
liRCl plans-to use the " source material" table (page 46) in the Interagency Task Force Report in place of the fiUS source material table on page C-68.
Review of liMSS records, conversations with shippers, and the instructions for filling in source material quantities (report entitled, "fluclear Material Transaction Report Instructions" published by fiRC) indicates that shippers

generally would not include the amount of nonradioactive matrix in the
~
source caterial estimates.
The use of the lask Force ertimates results in approximately s 300-fold increase over NUS estimates.
4.
Rearrange the listing of nuclides in Table C-43 in a more structured format.
List the nuclides in groups according to the range of their half-lives (as 4
suggested below).
SUGGESTED RANGES OF NUCLIDES BY HALF-LIFE Hal f-life
< 3 months 1 year 10 years 50 years 50 years J
Upon completion of Task 9 all basic data files developed pursuant to this contract will be delivered to the Contracting Officer.
