Reactor Protection System Motor Generator Sets

Dear Sir:

Reference (b) requested that Vermont Yankee make a commitment to install Class lE protection at the interface of the RPS Motor Generator Sets and the reactor protection system. Reference (b) also requested that a schedule for completion of that modification and a schedule for submission of design information and proposed Technical Specifications be submitted within 60 days. We are currently investigating both your basis for rejecting our previous proposal, as well as your proposed modifications. We anticipate that our response will be submitted no later than January 23, 1981.
