In enclosure 3 to your letter of October 31, 1930 to All Licensees, you requested that we submit a detailed outline of the scope and schedule for meeting NUREG 0660 requireuent II.K.3.30.
Requirement II.K.3.30 requires that analytical methods used by nuclear steam supply system vendors for small-break loss-of-coolant accident analysis (LOCA) for compliance with Appendix K to 10 CFR-Part 50 he revised, documented and subnitted for N2C approval.
This information was requested to be submitted by January 1, 1932.
The 3UR Owners Group has directed General Clectric to take the lead in resolving this item with the NRC uith respect-to the LOCA analysis nodels.
The NRC staff was informed of this during the September 22, 1980 cirrification meeting in
!!a s h i n g t on, DC and it was indicated that this approach would be J
acceptable.
Since General Electric performs the LOCA analyses for the Peach Botton Units, we also consider them to be the uost aporopriate party for the URC staff to work with in resolving the staff concerns related to small break LOCA models for BWRs.
i Accordingly, we-request that the NRC staff.connunicate directly with General Electric (contact Mr.
