Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
This is in partial response to your letter of October 31, 19 80 trans-mitting NUREG-0737, " Clarification of TMI Action Plan Requirements. "
Specifically, a schedule outline for meeting item II.K.3.30, concerning small break loss of coolant accident (SB LOCA) methodology is requested by November 15, 1980.
We have reviewed the applicable documents as requested in your letter.
We believe the existing scull break LOCA model, as approved by the NRC Staff, fully meets the requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix K.
However, details of a response that would support this evaluation can be further discussed.
For this, a meeting is proposed with your staff and owners of Babcock and Wilcox designed nuclear steam supply systems on December 16, 1980.
It is expected that contacts to finalize arrange-ments will be handled through the individual utilities' normal licensing representatives.
