Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 2 00cket No. 50-368 License No. NPF-6 Proposed Technical Specifications Change - To allow dufficient time to properly test and set pressurizer code relief valves (File: 2-1511.2)
Centlemen:
This letter proposes a change to the Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 2 ( ANO-2)
Technical Specification (T.S.).
We wish to change s ection 3.4.3.b.
This change is requested for the reasons discussed belav.
Actual operating experience has shown that 12 hours1.388889e-4 days <br />0.00333 hours <br />1.984127e-5 weeks <br />4.566e-6 months <br /> is insufficient time for concluding required hydrosetting of the pressurizer relief valves.
The following is a hydroset time sequence of events:
Time, Hours Heatup gnd pressurigation 300 F Tave to 500 F Tave @ 20 F/hr. rate 10 0
Heatup gnd pressurigation, 500 F Tave to 545 F Tave 0 45 F/hr. rate 1
Setup time for hydroset 4
Perform hydroset 0.5 Allow relief body to cool, adjust relief as may be required 4
Repeat hydroset 0.5 Remove hydroset equipment, restore normal conditions.

Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 170.22, we have determined our amendment request to requi re a Class III fee as it involves a single safety issue.
Accordingly, a check in the amount of $4,000 is remitted.
