As requested by V. Noonan, Assistant Director for Materials and Qualifica-tions Engineering, we are providing information on the polyurethane foam 1.isulation in the Sequoyah Nuc1 car Plant unit 1 ice condenser.
We consider the following information to be generally applicable to polyurethano foam (without fire retardant).
Auto ignition temperaturc is about 1000 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ignition temperature is 400 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Decomposition starts at approximately 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
.The major decomposition products are CO, CO, and N0
