Dear Mr. Knupp:
Upon the conclusion of our telephone conversation on August 22,1980, you asked that I address to you in writing the substance of that conversation.
A number of months ago, during a telephone conversation that I initiated, you requested the Nuclear Regulatory Comission to strike your name from its service list in the above-captioned proceeding and to refrain from contacting you concerning future matters arising as a result of this proceeding. The NRC also recalved a copy of a letter dated January 9,1980, that you directed to Chairman Smith of the Licensing Board. In that letter you stated that you desired that your name be removed from all further mailings.
These requests, coupled with a reference to Dauphin County in the Licensing Board's most recent New1orandum and Order,M lead the Staff to inquire whether Dauphin County intends to formally notify the Licensing Board whether it intends to discontinue its status as a party in the THI-l license-suspension I
proceeding.
