Supplemental Aorrement to Contract No. NRC-04-76-299 SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY AND THE U. S. HUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION THIS SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT, effective the 1st day of July
, 1980, by and between the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (hereinafter referred to as the
" Government"), as represented by the UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY CCMMIS-SION (hereinafter referred to as the " Commission"), and VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY (hereinafter referred to as the " Contractor").
WITNESSETil THAT:
WHEREAS, the parties desire to modify Contract No. NRC-04-76-299 as hereinafter provided, and this supplemental agreemect is authorized by law, including the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974, as amended, and the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.

NOW, THEREFORE, said contract is hereby modified as follows:
1.
Appendix A, attached to this supplemental agreement and made a part hereof, provides for the research to be performed by the Contractor during the contract period specified therein.
2.
In Article II - The Period of Performance, the te " June 30, 1981 is substituted for the date " June 30, 1980 3.
In Article III - Consideration, the sum "$244,978.00" is substituted for the sum "$185,773.00".

APPENDIX A For the Contract period July 1, 1980 through June 30, 1981 Article A-I RESEARCH TO SE PERFCRMED 3Y CONTRACTOR (a) The unclassified scope of work under this contract entitled, " Continuation of Study of Near Surface Geology of the.Reelfoot Lake Dist f et of the New Madrid Earthquake Region" is as follows:
The principal investigator will continue to prepare reports on geophysics and geology and will supervise students in the final phases of projects, geophysical surveys, drilling and possible trenching.
Graduate and undergraduate students will make limited surveys focused on verification of relationships and techniques that are already known.
The main effort will be on final data analysis, report writing, preparation and drafting of maps and and other illustrations.
Travel in field work will be somewhat less than in the past, but travel for conferences with cooperators will increase.
Specifically, a significant time will be spent in such places as Urbana, Illinois; St. Louis, Mo.; and Memphis, Tennessee, with T. C. Buschbach, Hcward Schwalb, Terry Templeton and others, in preparing regional maps and reports as part of the cooperative study.

Article A-III - ESTIMATED NRC SUPPORT COST The total estimated cost of items under A-II(a) above for the contract period stated in this Appendix A is $ 59,205.00 ; the Comm'ssion will pay 100 percent of the actual costs of these items incurred during the contract period stated in this Appendix A, subject to the provisions of Article III and Article B-XXVIII.
The estimated NRC Support Cost for the contract period stated in this Appendix A is $ 59,205.00.
The estimated NRC Support Cost is funded as follcws:
