O March 31, 1980

Dear Sirs,

I am a husband with two little boys, Scott 2 h yrs. and Cory 7 months.

My wife and I live in Elizabethtown Penna. and are in constant contact with many residents via the Welcome Wagon and Kiwanis clubs. Most of our friends say

" proceed - but carefully" and restart TMI Unit One and the cleanup of TMI Unit Two.

The type of response shown in a Dept. of Energy Resources (DER) meeting held in Elizabethtown almost two weeks ago was put into proper perspective in an Elizabethtown Chronicle (Weekly) editorial which basically indicated that tf the 300 people who came to the meeting were not from the Elizabethtown to tell the "out-of-towners" (meaning those outside the Lancaster area)

Those who were there to learn either sat down in silence after tr area.

to

" keep quiet" or they left in disgust.

I'd like to renind you gentlemen, that Elizabethtown College took a scientific survey of 365 Elizabethtown/Lancaster Co. area residents which indicated that 64.3ffamilies are for the re-starting of TMI Unit One with the a:oropriate added safety modifications, as necessary, based on the lessons learned from the Unit Two accident.

My wife and I are for the reopening of TMI Unit One and the cleanup of TMI Unit Two. We want the technological progress to continue forward, not backward, for our children and their children.

l Sincerely, K!Llffa P
