SUMMARY
OF JUNE 5, 1980 MEETING ON UPGRADING THE QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) PROGRAM AT ZION STATION INTRODUCTION Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff met with CEC 0 Quality Assurance (QA) personnel on June 5, 1980 in Bethesda, Maryland.
The meeting was requested by the NRC QA Branch to discuss the QA Program during the operations phase of Zion Station. A list of attendees is shown in Enclosure 1.
DISCUSSION Ge meetings agenda is shown as Enclosure 2.
Discussion related to the QA Branch reviews being conducted in response to Item F.1. (f)(0) of the Task Action Plan for Indian Point and Zion.
The Action Plan was sent to CEC 0 by our letter from Mr. Harold Denton to Mr. Cordell Reed dated April 8, 1980.
We had also sent questions of concern with CEC 0's OA Program by letters of April 8 and May 20, 1980.
(CEC 0 responses have now been received and are under review). Since the NRC staff has concerns in the areas described in meeting agenda (see III Objectives), we requested a follow-up meeting with CECO. A follow-up meeting is planned for Zion Station following our review of CEC 0's responses to our letters of April 8 and May 20, 1980.
