Enclosed please find a letter from General Atomic Ccmpany requesting an amendment to export license XSNM01598 to increase the quantity of material authorized for export by an additicnal 14.8 kilograms uranium enriched to 19.9 w/o maximum for use in the THOR reactor in Taiwan.
Before taking action on this license amendment request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the issuance of the re-quested amendment meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
