DPR-22 50-306 DPR-60 License Amendment Request Dated August 21, 1980 Special Chlorination Programs Attached are three originals and 37 conformed copies of a request for a change of Environmental Technical Specifications, Appendix 3, of Operating Licenses DPR-42 and DPR-60.
Also attached is one copy of the license amendment class determination and a check in the amount of $1600.00 for the amendment fee.
The proposed changes are being submitted to permit special chlorination programs for the Prairie Island circulating water system to eliminate parasitic amoeba.
This request duplicates our October 30, 1979 submittal for authority to conduct semiannual chlorination programs. Howeve r in processing our prior request, the Technical Specification authority granted was confined to a one time program. A report on the results of this program were submitted to you with our letter of March 13, 1980 as requested by your authorization letter of November 2, 1979.
We are requesting expedited handling of this request because chlorination must be conducted at leas t 6 days prior to human contact.
During Unit I refueling outage scheduled to begin September 2, plant circulating water cleaning operations will be conducted which will involve human contact.
