This will confirm Mr. Tourte110tte's report at the Prehearing Conference held August 12-13, 1980 concerning the issues and contentions on which the Staff presently believes it will be prepared to present testimony in,an October 1980 hearing. Using the groupings outlined in Mr. Trowbridge's July 18, 1980
" Memorandum to All Parties in TMI-1 Restart Hearing", the Staff believes it will be able to present testimony on Group A issues (Analysis and Modification of Plant Desigr), with the. exception of Subgroup 3 issues (Accident Design Bases). Thus, the Staff believes it will be able to address the issues raised by the follcaing contentions in Group A:
UCS contentions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10,12, and 14 j
ECNP contentions 1 (a, c,'d, e)
ANGRY contentions V (B, C, D)
Sholly contentions 1, 3, 5, 6 (a, b), 13, and 15 Lewis contention,
~ In addition, the Staff will be able to address Group B issues (TMI-1 and TMI-2 Separation). _. Although all of the contentions in Group B have been withdrawn or dismissed, the Staff will file testimony addressing the concerns raised by those contentions.
