The purpose of this memorandum is to advise the parties of l

the resignation (effective at the close of this week) of this Board's Chairman from his position as a permanent legal me:aber of-the Appeal Panel.

Mr. Farrar is leaving the employ of the Commission to accept 'a position outside the Government.

To this. point, -he has participated actively in the drafting of an opinion'that will decide the pending appeals in this antitrust proceeding., Because his presence on the Board is necessary for a' quorum, S

r. Farrar has acceded'to the request ~of Appeal M

i 1/.. The third member of. the Board,.Jerome E. Sharfman, resigned some time ago and, because of possible conflict of in-Lterest problems,-is-not available to the agency.
