Dear Mr. Kammerer:

I'm contacting the Commission in reference to an issue raised by Mr. Marvin Lewis of 6504 Bradford Ter., Philadelphia, PA. at a hearing that I, as a member of the House Subcommittee on Interior and Insular Affairs, chaired to study the question of emergency preparedness surrounding the Limerick Nuclear Power Plant site.

Mr. Lewis, in his testimony, stated that blasting taking place at a quarry next to the Limerick plant could cause a problem with the concrete construction.

He pointed out that " green" or uncured concrete, when vibrated, may result in cracks when finished.

As a result of these allegations, I am requesting answers to the following questions:

1.

Was a study ever conducted to discover if, indeed, any blasting did occur around this " green" concrete?

2.

If sbch a study was conducted, what were the results?

3.

Does the Commission plan to look into this issue in the future?

I thank the Commission for concerning itself with this important-matter for me.

I will be looking forward to a. response.

erely, I
