BOMB THREAT On August 7, 1980 at 4:58 p.m., PST, a mal _e calling himself " Jerry" telephoned the Longview Daily flews, Longview Washington and indicated he had placed 750 lbs of primer cord between the 90' - 120' level of the cooling tower at Trojan and it was set to go off at 12 midnight. Through a serim of telephone calls to the Daily News, " Jerry" claimed to be an ex-security guard at Trojan and a Vietnam veteran, and that this was the real thing.
The Daily flews notified the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office, who j
in turn notified T ojan Security Watch' Supervisor, Gene Brown.
A search by site security personnel, Columbia County Sheriff Deputies (LLEA) and a representative from the Vancouver, Washington ATF office met with negative results.
No explosion occurred.
Investigation continues by Vancouver ATF.
fio evacuation or site announcement was made. Licensee notified. Oregon 000E.
The male caller had earlier notified the Portland FBI office.
No press release is planned by the licensee or Region V.
