SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSES TO IllTERROGATORIES The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow") submits the following supple-mental answers to Interrogatory 8 of Intervenors other than Dow and Interrogatory 1(k)oftheNRCStaff.
Since these Interrogatcries request'similar information, the answers.to both have been combined in the statement set forth below.

State in detail the present status of your current facilities for generating electricity or steam in light of each of the following:
(a) regulation, discussion, citation, demands or requests by or from the United States Environmental Protection Agency _
regarding State or Federal air pollution, requirements in Midland, Michigan.

ANSWER I
Dow appeared before the Michigan Air Pollution Control Comission on November 22, 1977 and presented its arguments in favor of submission of Consent Order No. 10-1977 to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency e
(EPA) as' a revision to the Michigan State Implementation Plan. The Commission rejected Dow's arguments and refused to direct its Staff

to submit-the Consent Order to EPA.
Dow, on December 7,1977,. filed a Petition.for Writ of Mandamus in the Michigan Court,of Appeals to 4
compel the Michigan ~ Air Pollution Control. Commission to submit the
-Consent Order to EPA.- Dow also has filed a Petition to Review the Commission's decision in.the Midland County. Circuit Court to preserve its-appellate rights'in the event 'that the Michigan Court of Appeals refuses a writ'of mandamus.
. Finally, Dow has sent a letter to the Michigan Air Pollution Control Commission and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
