ETEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF 13 CFR 26.21(b) - FITNESS-FOR-DUTY."J.rRESHER TRAINING - FORT CALHOUN STATION, UNIT 1 (TAC NO. M86004)

By letter dated February 12,19;3, the licensee (Omaha Public Power District) of Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No.1, requested a one-time exemption from the requirements of 10 CFP,26.21(c) in order to extend the time requirement for Fitness-For-Duty (FFD) refresher traiaing.

Section 26.21(b) of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations states that refresher training must be completed on a nomind 12 month frequency or more frequently where the need is indicated. As a or.e-time exemption associated with the specific case addressed in the February 12, 1993 request, this exemption would allow the refresher training time requirement be extended to approximately 18 months in 1994.

The Commission has granted this exemption pursuant to 10 CFR 26.6.

By letter dated February 12, 1993, the licensee (Omaha Public Power Distric')

of Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No.1, requested a one-time exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR 26.21(b) in order to extend the time requirement for Fitness-For-Duty (FFD) refresher training.

Section 26.21(b) of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations s'-tes that r2 fresher training must be completed on a nominal 12 nonth frequency or more frequently where the need is indicated. As a one-time exemption associated with the specific case addressed in the February 12, 1993 request, this exemption would allow the refresher training time requirement be extended to apperximately 18 months in 1994.

The Commission has granted this exemption pursuant to 10 CFR 26.6.

A copy of the exemption is enclosed and is being forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
