Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Units I and 2 Docket Nos. 50-416 and 50-417 File 0260/L-380.0/L-371.0 NRC/INEL/ Audit Items AECM-8? /155 In response to your letter dated March 26, 1981, regarding the seismic inputIprovided by Bechtel for independent analysis of Grand Gulf, the following clarification is provided.
The ent.sputational error detected by EG&G is net a generic error in a computer code used by Bechtel for Grand Gulf analyses or analyses for any other Bechtel projects. The error was an isolated computational mistake made in a computer code written by Bechtel specifically to provide appropriate seismic input data to EG&G for their independent structural analysis of Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. This computational mistake has no bearing on other aspects of the structural analyses performed by Bechtel for Grand Gulf plant s,tructures because this particular computer code is not used for those analyses.
By letter dated March 12: 1981, Bechtel submitted corrected time-histories to EG&G for use in completing their seismic anslyses.
