I write to request an undeleted copy of the attached letter from Alfred D. Starbird, Assistant Administrator for Naticnal Security, ERDA and Kenneth R. Chapman, Director of the Office of Nuclear Materials safety and Safeguards.

n Page 2 As you know, the amended Act provides that if some parts of a. requested ~
file are exempt from release that " reasonably segregable" portions shall be provided.
I therefore request that, if you determine that some portions of the requested material are exempt from release, you provide me with a copy of the remaining material.
I, of course, reserve ' y right to appeal any such deletions.
m If you determine that any of the requested material-is exempt from release, I would appreciate your advising me as to which exemptions you believe cover the material you are not releasing.
As you know, the amended Act permits you to reduce or waive fees if that is "in the public interest because furnishing that information can be considered as primarily benefitting the public."
I believe this request plainly fits that category and ask that you waive all fees.
