Dear Mr. Smith:

mi I recall giving a " limited appearance" in early Winter 1979 to your ASLB. I felt you were patient and answered questions in a very positive f ashion. It was my thought that you indeed had a compassionte feeling for what many of the local citizens like' myself are living with.

The March 5, 1981 " limited appearances" were not co=pleted because of the 10 P.M.

need to vacate the building. As a result, more than 1/3 of those scheduled were incon-venienced and not heard on a dreary March evening.

Many of the citizens present were there to listen, not =ake presentations. Many did not come because local news sources said the =eeting would be held March 11, now cancelled.

I was alarmed at the " recess" you took when State Representative Bruce Smith, R-Newberrytown, addressed your board. He was elected by the people--you were not, there-fore, you should have given him even = ore consideration during the presentation.

As a result, I feel you should address the following:

1.

hold 1, possibly 2 " limited appearances" in April 2.

advertise these two weeks in advance to allow individuals to retain babysitters, arrange transportation or possibly change working hours 3.

absolutely hold sessions in the evening cffer Representative Smith an apology and the opportunity to address the ASL3 4.

It was truly chilling to see you and the board walk away from a State Legislator:

I cert inly expect this type of pompous attitude from NRC staff and the utility -- but most certainly not from an ASLB that is supposed to be sensitive to human concerns among the masses of technic.1 information.

Your considerations and reply to my requests would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely, h

Donald E. Hossier cc: Congressman Ertel Commissioner Gilinsky PA Senator Gekas gjgg 17 $$1 U.S. Senators from PA
