11631 Supplemental to our correspondence, Serial 11345 dated February 24, 1981, we wish to advise the NRC of our intentions to implement the same modified reactor pressure vessel support concept for Midland Unit 2 which has been previously proposed for Unit 1.

This concept consists of detensioning the anchor bolts of the reactor vessels and previding upper lateral supports. Our intentions are based on receipt of R L Tedesco's letter of March 6, 1981 which provided approval to proceed with (RPV) support modification.

We hope that this letter corrects any appearance of indecision which may have been conveyed to the NRC in our previous correspondence.
