s, In your letter of February 17, 1931 and during our subsequent ce c before your Subcommttee on February 19, 1981, you expressed deep concern for the operating
- fcense delays as described in our January 30 report to the Subcommittee.
Your specific direction to the Comission was to prepare a report identifying any and all steps, within existing law, which the Comission could take to accelerate the reviews and granting of operating licer.ses.
The Comission and Staff have been working diligently to examine the issue and produce viable reconnendations to mitigate the impact of the present foreca-t delay.
It is. requested that the Comission be granted a one week extension to submit its report, COB March 12, in order to more fully explore additional approaches to potential solutions to licensing problems.
