Dear Mr. Grier:
Pursuant to Connecticut Yankee Environmental Technical Specifications (ETS), Section 3.1.1.3, Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company hereby forwards the following report regarding fish impingement overruns.
During power operations.with four main circulators running, an estictated 38 bluegill, Icpomis ncerocMrus, length category 3-6", were impinged as of April 30, 1978, exceeding the monthly limit of 25 as established by ETS Table 3.1-1.
There was no apparent cause for this occurrence which could be related to changes in plant operations.
The bluegill, commonly found in quiet, slow moving waters, experienced an overrun which may have resulted from the seasonally high water Icvels l
in the Connecticut River. The total number cf bluegill impinged was small and does not point toward a trend of increased impingemen't rates.
