Schwenoir, Chief Licensing Brarch No. 2 Division of Licensing U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission Washington, DC 20555 Dear Mr. Schwencer In the Matter of the Application of

)

Docket No. 50-328 Tennessee Valley Authority

)

Reference:

(1) Letter from L. M. Mills to A. Schwencer dated January 16, 1981 (2) Letter from T. Kenyon to Tennassee Valley Authority dated January 23, 1981 Reference 1 notified the NRC that the schedule for completion of Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 2 had changed from the previously specified date of March 4, 1981, to April 15, 1981.

Reference 2 proviced TVA with the results of the NRC Caseload Forecast Panel (CFP) evaluation of the Sequoyah unit 2 fuel load date.

In this letter, the NRC acknowledged the possibility of an April completion date but stated that this schedule did not allow for " unknown contingencies" and specified a completion date of June 1, 1981.

TVA has reevaluated the Sequoyah unit 2 schedule as t. result of the CFP findings. TVA is confident that the April 15, 1981, completion date will be met and is concerned that the June 1,1981, CFP schedule may result in a delayed NRC review.

TVA believes that a reevaluation by the CFP at the first opportunity is appropriate to reaffirm the TVA schedule for Sequoyah unit 2.

D. L. Lambert will get in touch with you to coordinate schedules and arrangements.
