S. riuclear Regulatory Commission (the Connission) has issued Amend-ment No. 51 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-51, issued to Arkansas Power and Light Company (the licensee), which revised the Technical Specifications for operation of Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit No.1 (the facility) located in Pope County, Arkansas.

The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.

The amendment changes the Appendix B Environmental Technical Specifications relating to the frequency of fish impingement samples. The fish impingement sampling-is reduced from-three times per week to two times-per week f ron--

October i through March 31.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Cornission's l

rules and regulations. The Conmission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Qiapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards con-sideration.

l The Commission has determined that the issuance of this amendnent will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 551.5(d)(4), and environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection witn issuance of :nis amendment.
