Dear Mr. Davis:
Concerning your letter of August 20, 1980 and Inspection Report No. 50-346/
80-24 (Log 1-410), the following statement appears in Item 12 on Page 10 of the report:
" Station Review Board minutes showed that all Licensee Event Reports (LERs) had been reviewed as required, but no mention was made in the minutes of the Company Review Board that LERs for 1980 had ever been reviewed. A discussion with Company Review Board members indicated that the current procedure for LER review is to distribute them to each individual member of the board, however, no mention of this is made in the minutes of the Company Review Board. The inspectors recommended that some documentation of this review be included in the meeting minutes. This was discussed at the exit interview."
Contrary to the above NRC statement, (1) CNRB Minutes #57 for meeting of March 28, 1980 clearly state on page 4 the current procedure for LER re-l view by the CNRB, also (2) CNRB Minutes #61 for meeting of May 22, 1980 document on page 3 the review of 1980 LERs through LER 80-038.
Therefore it is our position that the CNRB has provided adequate documenta-tion of their reviews and no further consideration will be given to this item.
