Dr. Joseph M.

Hendrie, Chairman U.S.

!uclear Regulatory Commission 1717 H Street H. W.

Washington, D. C.

20515

Dear Sir:

I want to register my objection to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Metropolitan Edison, GPU or any person or persons ordering releases of radioactive gases or water into the atmosphere and Susquehanna River from Three Mile Island Nuclear Pouer Plants in York County, Pennsylvania; also I as objecting to the reopening of Units 1 and 2 of these plants.

My home is s.i tuated just a short distance fron TMI and Peach Bottom duclear Power Plants; and I as many others feel very uncomfortable and angry being compelled to live in this enviro' ment that was forced upon us with no voice in the matter.

The TZI disaster proved that our Government has permitted a

" monster" to be created, and appointed departments to have jurisdiction over this " monster", with little knowledge of how it can be controlled, except what they can gather from inexperienced persons who think they know all the answers until a catastrophe has occurred and then it is proven how little knowledge they can offer.

I feel that we have not been given all the facts concerning this accident and do not trust the Judgment of those in authority.

At our expense you may have learned a few things, but there will always be human and mechanical error and we are not going to tolerate the excuses that have been forthcoming thus far.

If you think the people should feel grateful to the NRC for bringing this accident to this point, you are very mistaken, because de blame the NRC for licensing such a " monster" 511'9 0 (fht h

2-Dr. Joseph M. Hendrie

- September 14, 1979 and it is your responsibility now and you cannot shirk this duty.

The NRC, GPU and Metropolitan Edison are absolutely brazen and defiant to the demands of the citizens of this area.

We are supposed to be living in a democracy with constitutional and human rights, but these rights are being ignored by our Government.

It is my right and I am demanding that my objection as previously stated be honored by you.

Yours truly, Ub,eco--
