PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket Nos. 50-282 and 50-306 In our previous responses to IE Bulletin No. 80-08, we committed to radio-graphic examinations of two Unit 1 welds which were not previously radio-graphed. Examinations attempted during the refueling outage were unsuccess-ful due to the thickness of the associated steel (about 7.5 inches). As noted in our response of August 21, 1980, the subject welds had been examined ultrasonically and found acceptable. Documentation of the ultrasonic exani-nation shows that the test personnel were aware the backing rings were present.
