Technetium Generator Breakthrough d,'?
A State of Alabama licensee reported to the Alabama Division of Radiological Health I'
a report of a Technetium generator molybdenum-99 breakthrough. The licensee called the State to infona them of the breakthrough during the first elutio:. on Novecber 17, 1980. The generator involved was a Squibb Model 1330, datedof calibrstion November 15, 1980, Lot No. 8831-1330. During the elution of 488 mC1 of Tc-99m in 5 ml, the technician reported 1.96 uC1 of molybdenum per mC1 of Tc.
The licensee has contacted Squibb and pulled the generator out of service.
