The information presented is as initially received without veriTication or evaluation and is basically all that is known by State Agreements Program staff as of this date.

Ardvark's Guns and Trade Center, Bend, Oregon
SUBJECT:
Attempted Sale of Radium fleedles On November 14, 1980 OSP was infomed by Oregon that an individual describing himself as a miner offerddseveral radium needles for sale.
State personnel have spoken to the shop's proprietor who described the needles as being 1/8" X 1" in length. The proprietor set up a meeting with the would be seller after contacting the police but the individual failed to show up. The emergency services branch of the local police department has issued a State-wide police wire advisory on this and the State Radiation Control Service has already responded to several telephone inquiries as the result of a UPI wire service bulletin.
The State has contacted the Nevada, California Idaho and Wahington Radiation Control Offices and will shortly issue a notice to all State radiui. licensees to report their radium inventory.
