Dear Mr. Keppler:
PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT Docket Nos. 50-282 and 50-306 In response to IE Bulletin No. 80-15, the following is offered:
1.
On June 25, 1980, it was verified that the Emergency Notification System (ENS) at this facility is powered in the manner described in Enclosure No. 2 to the Bulletin.
The " Normal" telephone system does have a battery backup power supply; this syatem will be used if the ENS is unavailable.
2.
Operation of a new telephone system is planned for mid-October 1980. This new system will be connected to a safeguards source with backup from a bat-tery through an invcrter. The ENS will be connected to the same supply by September 30, 1980.
3.
A test is being developed and will be conducted upon completion of the power supply modification.
4.
The notification requested by Item 4 was made on June 25, 1980.
5.
Administrative procedu es requested by Item 5 have been issued.
